Dicloran SR 100 Tablet (Diclofenac Sodium 100mg)

Dicloran SR 100 is a sustained release tablet containing Diclofenac Sodium 100mg. It’s used for pain relief and inflammation in arthritis, musculoskeletal disorders, and other painful conditions. Price for 30 tablets is Rs 650/- in Pakistan.

Uses

• Relief of pain and inflammation in:
  • Arthritic conditions (rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute gout)
  • Acute musculoskeletal disorders (frozen shoulder, tendinitis, bursitis)
  • Trauma-related pain (fractures, low back pain, sprains, strains)
  • Post-surgical pain

Dosage

• Adults: One SR 100mg tablet daily
• For milder cases and long-term therapy, one tablet per day is usually sufficient
• Maximum recommended daily dose: 150mg
• Should be taken whole with liquid, preferably with or after food

Side Effects

• Gastrointestinal issues (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain)
• Headache, dizziness
• Increased risk of cardiovascular events (heart attack, stroke)
• Gastrointestinal bleeding or ulceration
• Liver or kidney problems in rare cases
• Skin reactions (rash, rarely serious conditions)

Precautions

• Not recommended for patients with:
  • Heart conditions (congestive heart failure, ischemic heart disease)
  • History of stomach/intestinal ulcers or bleeding
  • Severe kidney or liver problems
  • Asthma triggered by NSAIDs
• Use lowest effective dose for shortest duration
• Elderly patients should be monitored closely
• Avoid alcohol consumption

Use in Pregnancy

• Not recommended during pregnancy, especially in third trimester (contraindicated)
• Should not be used when breastfeeding
