Dicloran 50mg Tablet is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) containing Diclofenac Sodium. It’s used for pain relief and inflammation in conditions like arthritis, musculoskeletal disorders, and post-operative pain. The price for a pack of 30 tablets is Rs 365/- in Pakistan.
Uses
Dicloran 50mg Tablet is used for:
- Arthritic conditions (rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute gout)
- Acute musculoskeletal disorders (frozen shoulder, tendinitis, tenosynovitis, bursitis)
- Painful conditions from trauma (fractures, low back pain, sprains, strains, dislocations)
- Post-operative pain and minor surgery
Dosage
- Adults: 75mg to 150mg daily in two or three divided doses
- Maximum daily dose: 150mg
- Elderly: Lowest effective dose recommended
- Not suitable for children
- Take whole with liquid, preferably with or after food
Side Effects
Common side effects include:
- Headache, dizziness, vertigo
- Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dyspepsia, abdominal pain
- Rash
- Increased liver enzymes
Serious side effects may include:
- Gastrointestinal bleeding or ulceration
- Cardiovascular events (heart attack, stroke)
- Skin reactions
- Liver or kidney problems
Warnings
- Contraindicated in patients with gastrointestinal ulcers, heart failure, liver/kidney failure
- Not recommended during the last trimester of pregnancy
